Hi All, As many of you may already know, this is my last week at ACFR and the University of Sydney. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for the opportunities, the casual chats, the collaborations, the advice, and the support over the past nearly 10 years. It’s been a privilege to be part of ACFR and to contribute to the centre alongside such an amazing group of people. That said, it’s not going to be that easy to get rid of me! I’ll still be supporting our ITS students and will continue to be involved in some of the projects we have underway. I’ll be around this week, mostly trying to leave everything as organised as possible, so if you’d like to stop by and say goodbye, I’d love to see you. Otherwise, I wish you all the very best, and I hope to keep hearing about your successes, most likely through LinkedIn. Thank you all, and see you around! Hi all, We are expecting tradespeople to be in J18 this Thursday 24th and Friday 25th June to assess and repair a leak on Level 3, in the open workspace where the ESIPS students are usually located. [Everybody at ACFR] Volunteers needed: RSS Pathways tours

Hi all, We have been invited to run tours for RSS attendees as part of the Pathways@RSS program. https://roboticsconference.org/program/pathways/ There are ~50 delegates, most are undergrad students from the Sydney area, along with a few high school students and international attendees. This is a great opportunity to reach a key audience for HDR student recruitment. It's to be held Monday 13 July, 2:30pm-3:30pm. I'd like to suggest we split delegates into 2-3 groups and circulate them between stations. I'm looking for volunteers: 1) For each of our research areas, a speaker to talk through their work. 2) Having someone operating Spot would be fantastic. 3) We'll need volunteers to guide each of the 2-3 groups through the space. Can you please get back to me in the next week with which of 1–3 you and your students / postdocs can help with. ACFR WiFi is back - the authentication server was successfully recovered and is now back in operation. I've test a phone (android) and a Linux laptop. Should for all systems equally. [Everybody at ACFR] ACFR Wifi (ACFR-WPA) is down and could be for a while

The server that provides the back end authentication service has crashed and corrupted it's boot loader. I may have to resort to reinstall. It's actually a virtual machine, and the hypervisor host kernel panicked earlier today taking out all virtual machines. This one seems to suffered badly.
